ApplyReady is a Chrome extension built to help international students analyze job listings for visa eligibility and role fit before applying. It is developed and maintained by a student at Youngstown State University.

ApplyReady collects the minimum data necessary to function:
Email address — used to create and authenticate your account via magic link. Stored in our authentication system (Supabase).
Usage logs — we record when an analysis or outreach request is made (timestamp, request type) for rate limiting purposes. We do not log the content of job listings or outreach messages.
Resume and profile text — stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage. Sent to our API only during an analysis request. Never stored on our servers after processing.
Visa and location preferences — stored locally in your browser only. Transmitted to our API only as part of an analysis request and not retained afterward.

The content of job listings you analyze
Outreach messages generated by the extension
Payment or financial information
Advertising trackers or third-party analytics
Any data sold or shared with third parties for marketing
Email — to authenticate you and send magic links. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
Usage logs — to enforce daily rate limits (25 analyses per day during beta) and prevent abuse of the service.
Resume and preferences — sent to our API during analysis to generate a personalized job fit verdict. Not stored after the request completes.
Supabase — handles authentication and usage logging. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Anthropic Claude API — powers job analysis and outreach generation. Resume and job content are sent over HTTPS during analysis. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Google Fonts — loaded for typography display only. No user data is shared.
Your resume and preferences are stored locally using Chrome's chrome.storage API — they do not leave your device except when transmitted over HTTPS to our API during an analysis request.
Your email and usage logs are stored in Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication sessions use short-lived JWT tokens with refresh rotation.
Access — request a copy of any data we hold about you.
Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
Correction — update your email by contacting us directly.
Portability — export your data upon request.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of ApplyReady after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
