Common issues
Auth The extension asks me to sign in but I have no account

ApplyReady requires no account. If you're seeing a sign-in prompt, it's likely a cached session from a previous install or a browser permission issue.

1
Go to chrome://extensions and remove ApplyReady.
2
Clear site data for any job board you were on (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data).
3
Reinstall from the Chrome Web Store. The extension opens without any login.

AI Analysis fails or returns an error

The extension calls an AI model to analyze listings. Errors here usually mean the request didn't reach the model or was rate-limited.

1
Check your internet connection — the extension needs it to call the AI.
2
Wait 30 seconds and click Analyze again. Rate limits reset quickly.
3
Try on a different job listing to confirm whether the issue is page-specific.
4
If the error persists across listings, the AI service may be temporarily down. Try again in a few minutes.
AI Response is slow or times out

Analysis usually completes in under 10 seconds. If it's taking longer, the AI service is likely under high load.

1
Wait for the current request to complete or time out — don't click Analyze repeatedly, as this queues multiple calls.
2
Try again after a short wait. Load usually clears in under a minute.
Setup The panel doesn't appear on a job listing

The extension icon sits in your Chrome toolbar. Click it on any job listing page to open the panel. It doesn't auto-inject on every page.

1
Make sure you're on a page with actual job listing content, not a search results list.
2
Pin the extension to your toolbar: click the puzzle icon in Chrome → find ApplyReady → pin it.
3
If the icon is grayed out, refresh the page and try again.
Setup My resume isn't being used in the analysis

Resume and visa status are stored locally in the extension's settings. They persist across sessions but are cleared if you reinstall.

1
Open the ApplyReady panel and go to Settings.
2
Paste your resume text and select your visa status. Click Save.
3
Run analysis again — your profile is now included in every request.
Other The outreach message doesn't match the job

Outreach is generated from the same listing text used for analysis. If the message feels generic, it's usually because the listing itself is thin on detail.

1
Make sure your resume is saved in Settings — this is the main personalization source.
2
Add a recruiter name in the panel before generating — it shifts the tone significantly.
3
Use selection mode: highlight the most specific part of the listing before clicking Analyze.
